My name is Melvin Quaresma. I am a Brazilian photographer primarily focused on documentary and street photography.
My relationship with the streets began in adolescence, when I used to go daily to the city center of Florianópolis, the city where I grew up, an island in southern Brazil, simply to watch life unfold, even before I ever held a camera. It was there that I discovered a passion that would later become photography. My main pursuit is human beings and their relationships with one another and with their surroundings. I consider myself deeply passionate about people and guided by nostalgia in everything I do.
